Our GOTR coaches have some excellent suggestions for places to run, walk, explore, and get some fresh air!
Coach Nicole from Ponderosa Elementary said she likes to explore the trails at the Upper Ridge Nature Preserve in Paradise. She also likes to walk and hike Paradise's PG&E Flume Pathways which connect to some great swimming holes. *Special note: Part of these raised pathways can be dangerous - adult supervision is absolutely necessary!
Coach Jordan from Rosedale Elementary said her favorite place to run is One-Mile park. "It is close and convenient for me, as I run to the park, run at the park, and run back home. It is a beautiful park with many trees and a creek, and the cute dogs there are always a plus!" She thinks it is a great place for GOTR girls to run and practice for the 5K!
Coach Karen from Marigold Elementary has some favorite Chico spots. She says running in Lower Bidwell Park cannot be beat, "with its shady trees that also keep you drier when it rains! When it's dark, she suggests Wildwood Park "because it is a well-lit path." Running the path at Wildwood Park about 6 times equals the distance of a 5k.
