Each season Girls on the Run of the North State identifies and selects a dynamic group of coaches to lead each of our teams of 8-15 girls. Coaches are parents, teachers, school administrators, college students and other community members who are committed to developing and celebrating our girls.

        - Saturday, August 12 or August 26 8:30 am to 2:30 pm in Chico.

Season Dates: Week of Sept. 4th to Week of Nov. 13th

DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE GOTR COACHES TRAINING?

No. Girls on the Run looks for dynamic individuals who are willing to volunteer their time to guide and mentor girls so that our next generation is prepared to be happy, healthy, self-confident adolescents and adults. A coach doesn't need to be a runner; she/he just needs to want to be a positive, nurturing influence and someone who is committed to developing and celebrating our youth.

DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE GOTR COACHES TRAINING?

Yes. All Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole Coaches MUST complete our certified training. This training is a two-part blended training model that includes an online course and an in-person training. More information on dates/times is given during the registration process.

CAN I CHOOSE THE SITE WHERE I WANT TO COACH?

Coaches may indicate a preference for the site at which they would like to coach. If coaches do not have a preference, we will assign them to a location in need of volunteers.

HOW MANY DAYS A WEEK DO TEAMS MEET?

All teams meet two non-consecutive days per week (i.e. Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur). Coaches choose which days to coach. Head Coaches must commit to two days per week. Assistant Coaches can choose one day or two (however, due to the fact that our curriculum builds from one lesson to the next it is WAY MORE FUN to attend both days). :)

WILL I BE REIMBURSED FOR COACHING EXPENSES?

Each team receives a site allowance. Coaches must submit all receipts related to program expenses at the end of the season and will be reimbursed for an amount not to exceed the site allowance.
