Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the 5k run take?

Finishing times vary of course, but our fastest runners will complete the run in about 25 minutes. Most runners will fall between 30-45 minutes We always sweep the course to ensure all runners have returned to the starting area.

WILL THERE BE A WATER STATION ON THE ROUTE?

We will have one water station on the course at approximately 1.5 miles. Runners are also encouraged to bring water bottles along on the course. Additional water and snacks will be available at the finish line.

Where should I park?

The start and finish for our run is located in the Durham High School parking lot. This area will not be open to cars during our event. We recommend parking in the Durham Elementary School parking lot and along the side streets. Come early, parking is limited, please be mindful of neighbors' driveways and any "no parking" areas... or better yet, carpool!

CAN I BRING MY DOG OR PET?

For safety, all furry friends are not allowed on the course or at the event, so please leave all pets at home on 5K day. All pets will be asked to return to the pet owner’s vehicle if spotted at the event.

Will there be an award ceremony?

Girls on the Run uses this fun run event as a graduation of our training program. We believe every girl is a winner, no matter how fast they run it. Therefore, we do not give out awards at our event.
